Pitch: Clara mist haar overleden moeder. Als ze met veel tegenzin haar grootvader gaat bezoeken, belandt ze in een mysterieuze wereld, die allemaal door haar moeder is bedacht. Maar er is een tiran — Moeder Ginger — die deze wereld bedreigt.

Bijzonderheden: Regisseur Lasse Hallström heeft het merendeel van de opnames en de post-productie voor zijn rekening genomen, door planningsproblemen moest regisseur Joe Johnston bijspringen tijdens de opnames.
